Writing Space

I have been writing privately for a long time.

I always had a journal or some aspect of a diary.  I remember when I was a young teenager I wrote in marble composition notebooks, I still love them. Back then, I’d write my daily thoughts in the front of the book skipping the left side page, then flipping the book over and upside down, I would write poems also not writing on the left-side page. Eventually, everything blended.

Many years later, I still have a diary or a journal…. This writing space is a safe zone I could write anything I want to or need to inside the pages because there is no judgment.  I say this to affirm it….and I remind myself of all the first pages when I start a new diary.  I have a format that I follow   I now start on the left side page, dating the page and asking the question:

What is on your mind…? Some days I answer “nothing; I don’t want to talk about it.” Other days I rant and spew out just how afraid or angry I am…. On occasion, I simply pray.   On the right side page I write as the header;

Being the mom…being the wife… being me

I write how I feel, or I doodle on these pages, many times I wrote one word in a rage or one from my heart! Then I turn the page on the left side I write the following:

Song:   a song I heard and love, or just a verse from a song
Quote:  ( did I mention I collect quotes)
Random Thought:  something random like; Wow the sky is so blue today…
My Prayer:
3 Things to be grateful for:
A truth:
What would the 5-year-old me want me to know:
What would the 17-year-old me want me to know:

The next page I write… What will heal me today:  I have answered this with Paul Simon. That is followed by What will inspire me today: and answered with “laughter”.

I know it is a process; there are days that I write continually, yet there are days that I neglect or avoid to write. Sometimes I tape a printed quote, a poem, a song or a picture, into the book. Then there are times when I don’t have my journal near me and any paper will do…so I scribble my thoughts on what I can find, and when I can, I  slip that note into my journal… All of this is my own…no judgment.  It is my writing space.

When I  write to blog, it is always on my computer in the upstairs bedroom…. I write in Word, once it is edited I copy and paste in my blogger draft, then I publish my post.

Marisa, you know I have a hallmark calendar I got years ago.and on the dates I write notes.Well from time to time I look through them just to see what I was doing on certain dates. I love to do that… I look back and think what was I thinking? I have 10 yrs worth and I love to see how I have grown…

Thanks for visiting…I guess you have the late night shift…so happy for you…can you exhale now…:)

I want to hear from you ; let's talk.
