Do you remember the scene in the movie Ground Hog Day, where every morning Bill Murray’s character would wake up to Sonny and Cher’s “I Got You Babe?” He knew that nothing changed, in fact, it was the same day.
Well we New Yorkers have a similar situation.

Folks, one week, not sure when; maybe soon, perhaps not soon enough, there will be a Ten Things of Thankful that I will not mention a four letter word that starts with the letter S – Yes It Happened again…..

It snowed yesterday (Saturday)- I am worried, because, in two weeks is a historic event that, ahem, could be a certain bloggers birthday- and I am very concerned, since every year on this special day the Forsythia bushes in her driveway always bloom; what if the Forsythias don’t bloom this year?
This is what we woke up to this morning!
Looking out the front window
Looking out the side door – herb garden buried
Regardless of all my concerns, and living in a frozen wasteland …well more like a frozen suburbia, I did find my ten thankfuls for the week.
Number One – The kids went to Religious Instruction yesterday. When I picked them up James wanted to go home, so Amelia and I went food shopping. Before we started our shopping, we stopped In Starbucks so I could surprise Amelia with their celebratory 20-year drink – Birthday Cake Frappuccino. Psst, that is pink whipped cream.
I love making her smile – I had a Chai latte.
Number Two – Food shopping was done early – while it snowed, we were home, no better place to be during snow flurries.
Number Three – homemade Sloppy Joes for dinner on Saturday night – it was yummy!
Number Four – The high school dance showcase was very entertaining – Amelia’s group did an awesome job.
Amelia is the only one whose face I didn’t smudge– because she is my daughter
Number Five – Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – hilarious – only 13 episodes, if you like the Office, and 30 Rock, you will love this too!

Number Six – Netflix – because they also added the last, Mad Men Season, only six episodes – almost done – it is so weird.

Number Seven – Another day to add my comments, humor, wit, pictures and proud moments on my Facebook page – unfortunately in the last two week I lost two Facebook friends; my thoughts and prayers are with their families.
Number Eight – Happy Palm Sunday everyone- Holy Week is upon us – have a glorious week!
Number Nine- I have some great ideas for future posts – love it when I actually write down my ideas.
Number Ten – It was an excruciatingly long week – for some reason I feel tired (I need to start my vitamin regimen that was suggested by my doctor vitamins B-12 and D), my thumb is not better (I will seek medical help soon) So I am so thankful for Friday night , Saturday and Sunday!

You know, for us in the DC area, winter didn't hit in all its furiousness until February. I mean, it was cold, but it wasn't snowy until then. But then, we couldn't seem to get past it! We had another highly unwelcome cold spell this weekend, but no snow, thank Goodness. Looking forward to a week of 50 and 60 degree days, let me tell you!
And thank Goodness for Netflix! We shared our love of Kimmy already, but I'm a Mad Men fan, too, though we move maddeningly slowly through the series since my hubs is watching with me and is not as in to it. I hope to start Season Three of House of Cards this week. We'll see.

Oh, I would have cried a bit to wake up to that snow this weekend. It's cold here, but it won't last long. Right? RIGHT!?!?
You are the second person to mention the birthday cake frap thing AND the Kimmy show. I don't go to Starbucks and I don't have Netflix, so it seems I am seriously missing out! 🙂
I never know how to wish anyone anything about holy week. It ends well, but we go through some seriously emotional days before we get there. I feel odd saying have a great holy week. ;/ Guess I'll just stick with "I hope your holy week is everything you need it to be."

Soon it will be spring, real spring, with your forsythia will be blooming like little suns all over your garden. Maybe they won't arrive for that birthday (;), but I'm sure the birthday girl will still shine!
Happy April, Marisa, and wishing you a Blessed Easter!
