Life Is Good, LOL!

Do you remember that famous scene from “A Christmas Story”, the  F-R-A-G-I-L-E scene?

Well a similar scene played out in our household last week, with less disdain and more humor of course.

A package arrived at our homestead one day last week, either Tuesday or Wednesday, I can’t remember.

It was Nick’s package. Nick told the kids he ordered underwear, the kids rolled their eyes, because they knew he was joking, excitedly the three paraded into the dining room so that hubby can open his package. We all watched, yes I did too, not sure why I was watching, because I just walked in and I think I was caught up in the frenzy of seeing what all the fuss was, or wanting to place my purse somewhere.

Once the box was opened, it was my turn to roll my eyes; Nick proudly pulled out the package, a box that housed a keyboard with huge letter keys and numbers – the whole thing can light up with five different LED colors.

He was excited, and exclaimed,” Now I will be able to see the letters.” I said,“You bought a geriatric keyboard?”He replied, “Yeah it’s for me, you’ll just think the colors are cool”

My comment was really just a tease – I like the teal color displayed.

Thank you my Love, for making me always feel young!

It is official, I have an old man – a very handsome and kind one.  I am always thankful for that.
I am not thankful that when I get home coats, shoes, and backpacks are everywhere!

I am so thankful that we have coats, shoes, and backpacks, but please put it all away!

I am not thankful that there is sand and salt being tracked into my house – but I am thankful that the snow and ice is melting.

We are learning to advocate for my daughter, a battle of wills, but I am thankful that we are both on the same page when it comes to Amelia’s sake.

As a result, we received positive feedback from the school regarding her middle school placement.

GO ME & NICK!

James received his progress report, grades are getting better, thank you for listening!!!

James donning the beret I crocheted.
Thank you James for helping yesterday- you are a great son!

Thank you Miss Amelia for a nice day yesterday, thank you for helping me with the food shopping. It was nice cuddling on the couch on a rainy day and watching a movie with you – I love you!

I am so thankful that I see how you are reading so much, you did something yesterday that  a year ago, maybe even 6 months ago, you wouldn’t do; you pointed out a play on a spelling of a word, that is huge my dear! I especially loved it when you read the words on the spare tire, on the Jeep ahead of us when driving home. You read aloud, “life is good”, then laughed at the sentiment.   You know what Miss Amelia; life is good, because you are here!
