Doing this now – it’s Saturday, let’s get it done

I am not a fan of Friday’s … Saturday yes, but Friday not so much, I think it’s because it is a day with too many expectations.

All week long, we build it up “is it Friday yet?”  Everyone asks, then the day arrives; it’s just another day.

Another day that still has possibilities, along with schedules, timelines, and goals that need to get done.

Until the day is over; when it’s  five o’clock, and my family and I are all home, this is when I can get excited about Friday and the weekend.

Ahhhh… first thankful five o’clock on Friday evening
Friends getting together last night; a “girl’s night out!”

The week is behind me – a grueling month-end; nonetheless, I got it done – so number three goes to, the week has ended.

I’ll leave this week with any anxiety, doubt, and worry that I felt, behind me– because truthfully whatever is happening during the day – I cannot control it.

Hugs – I still get hugs from my teen girl….the teen boy not at all.

Stevia,   I am thankful that I have stopped adding sugar to my coffee; I am substituting it with Stevia, and I am feeling good.

I started using Stevia on Monday – guess what started subsiding… “hot flashes” that is number six – it’s the sugar  if only I can get rid of sweets altogether … I write as I reach over to my secret stash and pop a dark chocolate Hershey kiss in my mouth.

Dark Chocolate – it’s medicinal – well I was told.

I wrote and published three posts this week….  So proud I am making a conscience decision about blogging – I need it.

Last one – new prescription for eyeglasses….and something else eye related – I’ll save that for next week when hopefully it happens.

Ahhhh and done!

When Amelia was little – after she did something she would always say ….”And done!”

That is what I am for now –

What are your thankfuls this week?

Friday has lost all expectation for me as it is not currently the end of my work week…but somehow saturday didnt acquire fridays attitude! Thank goodness…. Stevia is a natural sweetener right? I gotta go google it…

Dark chocolate (preferably paired with red wine) is certainly medicinal. I love the end of the Friday work day (even though I'm not still working) because it symbolizes peace in the home and expectation of relaxation. Hugs are always good.

So sugar increases your hot flashes? Hmmm…I have so few vices. What a bummer to find out this one—my very favorite—has yet one more reason to give it up!

i remember when my brother quit letting mother or me hug him too.
it hurts. but it's just the way most of them are. or a stage they go through.
i indulge in a dark chocolate every few days too! and YES! NOW it's supposed to be healthy! so we shall ENJOY.
my temptation will be strawberry shortcake. always my favorite. oh lordy.
    XO♥

I get that thing about Fridays, the emphasis on proving work by intensity of relaxation. Perhaps not as much, as its been quite some time since I've had work fits the traditional workweek model. (But then, in exchange for working most weekends, I like having the workdays available for a day off.)

Sugar is hard to give up, and easy to pick back up. (Can you tell I'm on the trying to give it up AGAIN phase?) I feel so much better without it–once I stop craving it.

My teens will generally give me a hug. Pecks on the cheek are more common (before bed and before leaving the house) and all but one teen are ok with the hug. I have a bigger problem with the youngest. He is adamantly opposed to any form of affection except a rare day when he first wakes up in the morning or when he's sick. It hurts, man!
I do love Fridays. It is usually a day free from practices or games, so the kids and I can come home and just relax, play games, and hang out. It makes the whole day happy for me.
I hope this week turns out to be smooth sailing for you.

See now Fridays I love…well, Friday evenings, to be specific. But after work and school and all the obligations are over. Friday evening is the "aaahhhhh" moment with all the freedom of the weekend ahead.
Sugar and hot flashes, eh? Good to know.

I want to hear from you ; let's talk.
